If you’re looking for a compact SUV that has style, space, and power, you often have to sacrifice fuel economy in order to get what you want. But thanks to the latest hybrid technology, that’s no longer the case. You can find a Honda CR-V Hybrid for sale here at Klein Honda that’s comfortable, fun to drive, and jaw-droppingly efficient. These features make for a well-rounded vehicle that can handle anything from a quick errand run to an extended commute to a weeks-long road trip.

For the 2024 model year, the CR-V Hybrid is available in three different trim levels. Each one has a unique set of features, but they all share a few things in common: reliable construction, an efficient powertrain, and a sporty look and feel. Based on your preferences and your budget, you can choose the one that best suits your needs. But in order to make the right choice, you need to know what these trims have to offer. So let’s take a look at the Sport, Sport Touring, and all-new Sport-L trims.

The CR-V Hybrid Powertrain

All three of the trims we’re discussing today are available exclusively with the CR-V’s hybrid powertrain, which pairs a four-cylinder gas engine with two electric motors and a high-voltage lithium-ion battery. This system provides a total of 204 hp, which allows the crossover to deliver thrilling driving dynamics. According to testing done by Car and Driver, the CR-V Hybrid can go from zero to 60 mph in a capable 7.9 seconds.

Beyond power, the hybrid system also delivers amazing fuel economy. According to the EPA, the average 2023 vehicle gets 28 MPG combined. The gasoline-only version of the 2024 CR-V already does better, with an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 30 MPG combined with front-wheel drive or 29 MPG combined with all-wheel drive.[a] Upgrade to the hybrid powertrain, and those numbers shoot up to an EPA-estimated 40 MPG combined with front-wheel drive or 37 MPG combined with all-wheel drive, giving you well over 500 miles of range between fill-ups.[a]

CR-V Sport Hybrid

The Sport is the most affordable hybrid option in the CR-V lineup, and it comes standard with plenty of useful features. A four-mode drive system lets you switch between Normal, Sport, Snow, and Econ so you can make your settings perfect for your current situation at the touch of a button. You can choose efficient front-wheel drive or opt for all-wheel drive to get better traction on slippery or uneven surfaces. Bright LED headlights give you full visibility in any weather at any time.

Inside, you’ll find that many comfort and convenience features come standard. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility allow you to hook your smartphone up to the CR-V’s interface and use the seven-inch color touchscreen to access your favorite apps while out on the road. There are front and rear USB ports, so all passengers can keep their devices fully charged. Push button start lets you keep your key in your pocket while you drive, and Smart Entry with Walk Away Auto Lock can give you peace of mind if you often worry about whether you locked the door.

Heated front seats come standard, so you can stay extra cozy when it gets cold out. The dual-zone automatic climate control system is intuitive and lets you and your front passenger independently select your ideal temperature. A one-touch power moonroof brings more natural light into the cabin. The ten-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with two-way power lumbar lets you get your position just right.

Honda’s suite of safety and driver assistance technology comes standard. The CR-V Sport has a Collision Mitigation Braking System, a Road Departure Mitigation System, a Lane Keeping Assist System, a Traffic Sign Recognition System, and Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow to keep you fully aware of your surroundings when you’re out on the road. There’s also a Multi-Angle Rearview Camera with Dynamic Guidelines that makes parking a breeze, even in tight spaces.

This trim isn’t called “Sport” for nothing. The exterior is decked out with sporty touches like dual chrome exhaust finishers and gloss-black wheels that look good with any paint color. Inside, the cloth seats have bright orange contrast stitching. The leather-wrapped steering wheel also has orange stitching, giving the cabin a comprehensive aesthetic. The CR-V Hybrid exclusive Sport mode enhances driving dynamics so you can feel the full power of the electrified powertrain.

CR-V Sport-L Hybrid

The 2023 CR-V only had two hybrid trims: the affordable Sport and the top-of-the-line Sport Touring. For the 2024 model, Honda introduced the Sport-L, giving drivers the freedom to find a middle ground between budget and luxury. This trim has all of the great features from the Sport, plus some additions and upgrades that make it even more comfortable, stylish, and convenient.

Step inside the CR-V Sport-L, and you’ll be greeted by leather-trimmed seats with the same eye-catching orange contrast stitching as the cloth seats in the Sport. Listen closely, and you’ll notice that the sound system has two more speakers than the Sport, bringing it up to a total of eight. In addition to being power-adjustable, the driver’s seat also has two-position memory, so it’s easy to share the CR-V with your partner without having to re-adjust all of the settings one by one every time you switch drivers. In the back, the power tailgate with programmable height can open at the touch of a button.

The infotainment system also has more to offer. The larger nine-inch touchscreen makes all of the text on-screen bigger, so it’s easier to take in at a glance. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto can both be used wirelessly, so you don’t have to plug in your phone to use your map or messaging apps. There’s also a wireless phone charger, making it easy to go completely cable-free.

CR-V Sport Touring Hybrid

The Sport Touring is the top-tier trim level for the entire CR-V lineup, hybrid or otherwise. It comes standard with Honda’s Real Time AWD, which usually operates in front-wheel drive mode for optimal fuel economy but automatically sends power to the rear wheels when road conditions call for extra traction. The power tailgate can be operated hands-free, so you can load up cargo easily, even if your arms are full. In addition to heated seats, there’s also a heated steering wheel to keep your hands nice and warm.

On the tech side, the Sport Touring includes Honda’s Satellite-Linked Navigation System, so you can find your way around without having to rely solely on your phone or your sense of direction. The driver assistance suite is expanded with standard front and rear parking sensors to give you an extra sense of awareness when parking. Finally, audiophiles are sure to adore the Bose premium sound system, which features twelve speakers, including a subwoofer, for top-notch audio quality.
