Ever since it first hit the road, the Honda Civic has helped to define the compact car segment. That certainly hasn’t changed in recent years, and it continues to set the standard for what all such cars should be, providing great performance, excellent features inside and out, and incredible safety technology. As you look for a 2025 Honda Civic for sale near Lynnwood, you might notice something particularly special this year: you now have hybrid versions available for both the Civic Sedan and Civic Hatchback. In fact, between them, you have more trim levels and options for hybrid models than for a traditional gasoline powertrain, letting you get the features you want along with remarkable gas mileage. So, let’s take a look at the available Civic Hybrid options and what they have to offer.

The 2025 Honda Civic Sedan and Hatchback

We’ll see a fair amount of overlap in features between the 2025 Honda Civic Sedan and Civic Hatchback, as well as with their trims, so we’re going to combine what they offer and simply point out some key differences between them. The Civic is a compact car, and the sedan version is everything you would expect from it: a gorgeous four-door with plenty of room inside for you and your passengers to stretch out. The sedan version has 14.8 cu.ft. of cargo space in the trunk and a spacious design with 99 cu.ft. of total passenger volume inside; even though it’s a compact car, it’s still quite comfortable. If you go with the hatchback model, then you get 24.5 cu.ft. of cargo space to utilize and the same 99 cu.ft. of passenger volume.

To fully appreciate the hybrid models, we need to look at the standard engine to see how it stacks up. The standard Civic for 2025 comes with a 2.0L I-4 engine that offers 150 hp and 133 lb-ft of torque; notably, this engine lets the Civic Sedan get an EPA-estimated 32 MPG in the city, 41 MPG on the highway, and 36 MPG combined.[a] By comparison, the engine in the Civic Hybrid models delivers a combined 200 hp and 232 lb-ft of torque for enhanced performance. Even more impressively, the 2025 Civic Sedan Hybrid models get an EPA-estimated 50 MPG in the city, 47 MPG on the highway, and 49 MPG combined.[a] This is fantastic gas mileage that lets you go a lot longer between stops, providing you with a terrific experience driving around Lynnwood day after day.

For the 2025 model year, you have an incredible selection of trim levels available for both the Civic Sedan and Civic Hatchback models. The Civic Sedan has LX and Sport trims available with the standard engine, while the Civic Hatchback only has the Sport trim on offer. Both versions of the Civic have Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid trims available, so while the Civic Sedan has two trims for each engine, you actually have more hybrid engine trims for the Civic Hatchback than standard engine trims. Let’s take a closer look at what’s available with these two hybrid trim levels to see which one will provide you with the kind of car you’re looking for.

Details for the Civic Sport Hybrid

Starting from the outside, the Sport Hybrid trim (for both the Civic Sedan and Civic Hatchback) features LED headlights with auto on/off functionality, LED daytime running lights, and LED brake and taillights. You get heated power-adjustable side mirrors on the Sport Hybrid featuring black mirror covers for an added touch of style, and this trim comes with Smart Entry with Walk Away Auto Lock, which makes it easy to get going or leave your vehicle when driving around Lynnwood. This trim comes with a one-touch power moonroof with a tilt feature, plus you get variable intermittent windshield wipers to maintain great visibility even in serious downpours.

Looking inside, the Sport Hybrid trim comes with all the standard features you’d expect, like power windows and door locks, cruise control, and illumination throughout the interior. You also get illuminated steering wheel-mounted controls, push-button start functionality, and sport pedals that enhance your driving experience. The Civic Sedan Sport Hybrid has a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, plus dual-zone automatic climate control to ensure all of your passengers are comfortable. There’s seating for five passengers in the Civic, and the Sport Hybrid trim features heated front seats that are perfect for cold Washington mornings. You also get a seven-inch infotainment display, a seven-inch Driver Information Interface screen, and an eight-speaker sound system in the Sport Hybrid.

Every 2025 Honda Civic comes with impressive Honda Sensing driver assistance technologies, including a Collision Mitigation Braking System, Road Departure Mitigation System, and more. The Sport Hybrid also features a Blind Spot Information System to help you avoid other vehicles lurking where you can’t see them, which non-hybrid versions of the Civic Sedan lack. Interestingly, the standard Civic Hatchback Sport does have the Blind Spot Information System. We should also mention that the Hatchback Sport Hybrid doesn’t have a leather-wrapped steering wheel, but it does have an eight-way power driver’s seat, which the Civic Sedan Sport Hybrid lacks.

Many of the differences between the Sport and Sport Touring trims of the Civic Hybrids come down to added luxury features and niceties, though they can add up to a significant degree. For example, the heated side mirrors on the Sport Touring Hybrid include integrated LED turn signal indicators that can help other drivers see where you’re going. Both the Civic Sedan and Civic Hatchback Sport Touring Hybrids also feature rain-sensing variable intermittent windshield wipers, which isn’t a necessity, but it can make driving around Lynnwood a lot easier. You also get enhanced safety tech on these trims, including Low-Speed Braking Control and Front and Rear Parking Sensors to make low-speed maneuvering easier.

On the inside, you’ll find more comfort and convenience features in the Sport Touring Hybrid trim, like an automatic-dimming rearview mirror. The Civic Hatchback Sport Touring Hybrid also has the leather-wrapped steering wheel that the Civic Hatchback Sport Hybrid lacks. Both versions of the Sport Touring Hybrid feature an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, along with leather-trimmed seating for an added touch of sophistication and a four-way power front-passenger seat. You get a 10.2-inch Driver Information Interface display in the Sport Touring Hybrid, along with a nine-inch infotainment display that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus Google built-in. Both the Civic Sedan and Civic Hatchback versions include a Bose Premium 12-speaker sound system with a subwoofer along with a wireless phone charger.

Which Honda Civic Is Perfect for Driving Around Lynnwood?

As you can see, while there are some notable distinctions between the sedan and hatchback versions of the Honda Civic, much of that comes down to how much cargo space you get at the rear of the vehicle. Once you know which design works better for you, then you can focus on which trim level is best for your needs. While the standard engine is a fine choice, we can’t deny that we prefer the performance and efficiency of the hybrid powertrain. With that in mind, you have two amazing hybrid trims available for either the sedan or hatchback: the Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid. Your choice then comes down to which comfort and tech features matter most to you. The standard options in the Sport Hybrid are excellent, but the upgrades of the Sport Touring Hybrid can improve your daily commute. Once you know which version is right for you, then we can show you just how much fun driving the Honda Civic can be.
