Few vehicles evoke a real sense of permanence in the market. However, while many models come and go every year, some remain for decades. The Honda Accord has been an active vehicle in Honda’s lineup since the mid-1970s, and its longevity speaks for itself. Many Accord drivers hold it in high regard as an amazing car regarding practicality and reliability. The 2024 Honda Accord is a particularly exciting model. It marks the second year of the car's eleventh generation, which brought new styling, features, and technology.
The 2024 Honda Accord is available in two trim levels. The higher trim levels from the previous generation still exist but are now a part of the 2024 Accord Hybrid. For the Accord models that don’t have electric motors under the hood, there’s the LX and EX. The 2024 Accord LX has a starting price of $27,895, while the EX starts at $29,910.[a] Both trims are reasonably priced, and since they place the Accord with other sedans priced under $30,000, this car is a tremendous value.

Performance
A Streamlined Powertrain Lineup
Honda has made a change in the Accord’s performance for the eleventh generation. The tenth generation had two powertrains, both with turbocharged engines. The new generation eliminates one of those powertrains, leaving the 2024 Accord with one available configuration. The powertrain that was kept is the turbocharged 1.5L I-4 engine paired with a Continuously Variable Transmission. Removing the turbocharged 2.0L I-4 engine means that while the 2024 model doesn’t have the same horsepower and torque output as the previous generation car, every 2024 Accord is a very efficient vehicle.
Ultimately, the 2024 Accord’s turbocharged engine is similar to the hybrid powertrain in a couple of ways. Both options come with front-wheel drive, and the Accord’s 192 hp is only 5.9% less than the hybrid model. Along with 192 hp, the 2024 Accord also has a 192 lb-ft of torque. Because the powerplant under the Accord’s hood is turbocharged, it has superb performance for an engine that only displaces 1.5L. The 2024 Accord also has excellent fuel economy ratings, making it a great pick for commuting.
The turbocharged 1.5L I-4 engine means the 2024 Accord will provide you with EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings of 29 MPG in the city, 37 MPG on the highway, and 32 MPG combined.[b] These ratings are not quite as good as those of the Accord Hybrid but are still superior to the turbocharged 2.0L I-4 engine that Honda omitted from the eleventh generation. For reference, the turbocharged 2.0L I-4 engine in the 2022 Accord earned EPA-estimated ratings of 22 MPG in the city, 32 MPG on the highway, and 26 MPG combined, so if you are concerned about efficiency first and foremost, the 2024 Accord will be a great choice.[c]

Infotainment Design
It’s most noticeable you’re driving a next-generation Accord when you’re sitting inside the vehicle and using its features. At face value, you may be concerned to see differences like the base infotainment center screen size dropping from eight inches in the tenth generation to seven inches in the eleventh generation, but that doesn’t matter. Even with one less inch of screen real estate, the newer infotainment center has a faster processor, resulting in snappier performance, which can make all the difference. In infotainment centers, as the components grow older, software becomes out of date and can become a nuisance to navigate.
While the previous-generation Accord’s infotainment center isn’t out-of-date per se, it used older components than the 2024 model. In real-world performance, the new infotainment center is an important upgrade, the same as any tech in your life would be, like a computer or cellphone. The base LX trim of the 2024 Accord has a 160W quad-speaker setup, but if you want richer audio, you can double the number of speakers to eight with the 180W sound system in the EX trim.
Tech Features
The infotainment center in the 2024 Accord has all the features you’ve grown accustomed to if you’ve owned any recent vehicle, including Bluetooth, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, and more. Also coming with the infotainment center are Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and both trims offer two USB-C ports––one for data transfer and one for charging wireless devices like your cell phone. USB-C ports are important, but the Accord still has a traditional 12V plug in its center console for powering other accessories. Aside from the infotainment center, every 2024 Accord has a 10.2-inch Driver Information Interface Screen that displays your gauges in a digital format and can be personalized to show various functions, such as turn-by-turn directions.
The 2024 Honda Accord also supports HondaLink. HondaLink is a mobile app you can download for your cell phone from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store, and it is a companion to your sedan. With the HondaLink app, you can do things that were either not possible before or required external devices you had to carry around, like a key fob. With HondaLink, you can access keyfob features like unlocking and locking the doors, starting the engine, and other functions from your phone. Even better, you can manage these functions anywhere, even if you’re far away from your car. Other HondaLink functions include presetting the climate of your cabin and, perhaps the most important of all, Find My Car. Find My Car is a feature of the app that allows you to see your vehicle on a map, perfect for when you can't remember where you parked.
Cabin Conveniences
The base 2024 Accord LX comes with manually adjustable driver and passenger seats. If you buy the EX trim, the small price increase makes for a large difference in overall comfort. The Accord EX has a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with two-way power lumbar support. The 2024 Accord Hybrid also offers a power-adjustable passenger seat and leather seating, but those features are not available on the standard Accord. However, to make up for that, both front seats in the EX are heated, which a front-seat passenger is likely to prefer over power adjustments. There are also several benefits to cloth seats, including the ease of cleaning and resistance to scuffing, scratches, and tears.
Dimensions
Excellent Interior Measurements
The 2024 Accord has excellent interior measurements, from cargo capacity to legroom and beyond. The amount of headroom your 2024 Accord has for yourself and your front-seat passenger isn’t identical between the two trims: the LX gives you 39.5 inches of headroom, which is decreased by two inches in the EX, dropping down to 37.5 inches. This 5% difference isn’t likely to make a noticeable difference, even to taller drivers, and the reason for it is that the EX has a power moonroof. Meanwhile, the headroom for passengers in the back is more similar between the two trims. The LX has 37.3 inches of headroom for back seat passengers, and the EX has a virtually identical 37.2 inches. Legroom has no disparity between the two trims, and the Accord eclipses expectations with 42.3 inches of front-row legroom and 40.8 inches of legroom in the back.
Like the legroom measurements, there’s no difference between the shoulder and hip room or the cargo capacity. The 2024 Accord already has an impressive array of interior dimensions for the driver. Still, it gets better because, in the front of the Accord, you’ll have a roomy and spacious 57.9 inches of shoulder room and 55.4 inches of hip room. The backseats have an identical 55.4 inches of hip room to match the front row, but the shoulder room in the back row is slightly less at 56.5 inches.
The last measurement to differentiate between the two trims is passenger volume. Both Accord trims seat five passengers, but the moonroof in the EX means it has a passenger volume of 102.8 cu.ft. Meanwhile, the LX has the most passenger volume out of any available Accord trim with 105.7 cu.ft. However, every 2024 Accord has the same amount of cargo space: a profound 16.7 cu.ft. in the trunk. This is plenty to store luggage for up to four people if heading on vacation, and you won’t have to stash as many groceries on the seats after shopping because of a lack of trunk space.
