2025 Honda Accord

What comes to mind when you think of a sedan like the Accord? It’s easy to praise the Accord’s practicality and efficient heartbeat, but it’s far more than what meets the eye. The Accord has a rich history on American soil, debuting in the late 1970s on the heels of the Civic. Over the last five decades, the Accord has maintained its position in the Honda lineup, with the 2025 model year continuing that tradition. So, what does Honda have in store for its iconic sedan that debuted with a 68 hp engine in 1977?

While 68 hp was impressive in the 1970s, the 2025 Honda Accord is a testament to the industry’s evolution as drivers want more power, greater efficiency, and sportier aesthetics. Honda satiates that need with the all-new Accord SE trim in 2025, which boasts a turbocharged heartbeat that makes 192 hp and 192 lb-ft of torque to complement its sportier design elements, like the shark fin antenna and head-turning black alloy wheels.

Beyond expanding the Accord’s family tree, Honda adds more to the sedan for the 2025 model year. We see this heightened focus on offering tangible improvements with the Accord’s expanded suite of standard features, comforts, technologies, and conveniences. Moreover, these additions don’t skyrocket the sedan’s price tag, with the base LX trim starting at a modest $28,295.[a] Here’s a closer look at what Honda offers drivers in the 2025 Accord, from trims and packaging to performance and technologies.

Two Gasoline Trims

The 2025 Accord introduces an expanded lineup with two traditional gas-powered trims and four hybrid trims. The entry-level Accord LX serves as the gateway into the sedan’s family tree, with a starting price of $28,295.[a] The LX’s budget-friendly price tag and feature-rich packaging exceed expectations, with Honda equipping the base trim with a 192 hp turbocharged heartbeat, a 10.2-inch driver information interface display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto via a seven-inch color touchscreen, and the Honda Sensing suite with Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow.

The Accord SE is new for 2025 and exchanges the LX’s practical design for sportier elements. The 2025 SE shares the same turbocharged heartbeat but adds 17-inch black alloy wheels, black window trim, and black door mirrors for a stealthier, streamlined aesthetic. It also introduces more luxuries and features, including a one-touch power moonroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, and a 60/40 split folding rear seat for extended versatility for passengers and cargo.

Four Hybrid Trims

Climbing the Accord’s family tree means exploring four hybrid trims, starting with the Sport Hybrid. The entry-level hybrid sedan starts at $33,655 and offers significantly more features and capabilities.[a] For example, the 204 hp hybrid powertrain delivers more excitement behind the wheel without compromising efficiency, with the 2025 Sport Hybrid offering an EPA-estimated 46 MPG in the city and 41 MPG on the highway.[b] The 2025 EX-L Hybrid is even more efficient and averages an EPA-estimated 51 MPG in the city and 44 MPG on the highway.[b] The mid-tier trim also adds leather seating, heated side mirrors, parking sensors, and a driver memory seat.

The Accord Sport-L Hybrid and Touring Hybrid complete the lineup, offering even more luxuries and features. The Sport-L Hybrid sits on 19-inch matte-black alloy wheels and is instantly recognizable by its rear decklid spoiler. Alternatively, the Touring Hybrid is more luxurious and tech-rich, boasting Google Built-In, a head-up display, and a Bose premium sound system. With so many trims to choose from, it is easy to tailor the 2025 Accord to meet your personal preferences.

Performance

Standard Turbocharged Power

Honda caters to a broad range of drivers by offering the 2025 Accord as a traditional gas-powered or hybrid sedan. The Accord LX and Accord SE share the same turbocharged heartbeat and a continuously variable transmission (CVT) with Step-Shift programming. Honda’s CVT is tuned to respond more like a traditional automatic transmission by simulating gear changes at full throttle, which is a welcome addition on sportier trims like the Accord SE.

The Accord’s gas powertrain is a 1.5L turbocharged engine with VTEC variable valve lift technology. The engine makes 192 hp and 192 lb-ft of torque, which doesn’t hinder the Accord’s reputation for efficiency. The LX and SE offer an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 29 MPG in the city and 37 MPG on the highway.[b] Drivers also have more control over the output with the Accord’s selectable drive modes.

Optional Hybrid Efficiency

While the gas-powered Accord LX and Accord SE are efficient and engaging, Honda entices drivers with the sedan’s hybrid lineup. The Sport Hybrid, EX-L Hybrid, Sport-L Hybrid, and Touring Hybrid feature Honda’s proven two-motor hybrid system that delivers 204 hp and 247 lb-ft of near-instant torque. The dual motor setup heightens the Accord’s responsiveness, with Honda ensuring the hybrid powertrain maintains the driver’s interest and engagement by simulating the feel of the drivetrain shifting gears when accelerating.

Beyond this engagement, the Accord Hybrid offers more selectable drive modes for a bespoke experience in the driver’s seat. The Sport, EX-L, Sport-L, and Touring build on the sedan’s standard Econ and Normal modes by adding Sport and Individual modes. The four-mode system finetunes the throttle response, steering input, and other features to tailor how the sedan responds to the situation or your driving style.

The 2025 Accord Hybrid also introduces a new era of efficiency, which is remarkable considering the Accord’s proven history of modestly sipping fuel. The Sport, Sport-L, and Touring offer an EPA-estimated fuel economy of 46 MPG in the city and 41 MPG on the highway.[b] The EX-L is the most efficient, with its ratings climbing to an EPA-estimated 51 MPG in the city and 44 MPG on the highway.[b]

Technology

Seamless Connectivity

The 2025 Accord showcases Honda’s dedication to keeping the sedan relevant and worthy of the spotlight. The automaker introduces more standard technologies to its flagship sedan, answering the need for seamless connectivity features and intuitive safety tools. Together, these features heighten every experience in the driver’s seat by keeping you more engaged, connected, entertained, and aware.

The Accord’s digital landscape is a focal point for the interior in 2025. The entry-level Accord LX and SE feature a seven-inch center touchscreen, with the hybrid trims exchanging it for a larger 12.3-inch center touchscreen. The screen is intuitive, easily accessible, and complements the Accord’s standard 10.2-inch Driver Information Interface. On the top-tier Touring trim, there is also a six-inch customizable head-up display.

Honda’s infotainment system offers smartphone integration via standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with the hybrid trims making this integration wireless and adding wireless smartphone charging. Google Built-In is also a prominent feature on the top-tier Accord Touring and offers enhanced connectivity by adding Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play. This addition is especially noteworthy with the updated 12-speaker Bose premium sound system offering an immersive listening experience throughout the cabin.

Standard Safety Features

The 2025 Accord’s connectivity and entertainment features are readily accessible, but the sedan’s technologies are also plentiful behind the scenes. The Honda Sensing suite is standard across the Accord’s 2025 lineup and heightens your experience behind the wheel by improving your situational awareness and mitigating the potential for collisions. The suite equips the 2025 Accord with Honda’s Collision Mitigation Braking System, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist System, Traffic Jam Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition System, Forward Collision Warning, and Road Department Mitigation System.

Honda Sensing is one of the few driver-assist suites that includes standard Adaptive Cruise Control. The 2025 Accord’s Adaptive Cruise Control technology features Low-Speed Follow, meaning it works at all speeds to reduce driver fatigue. Depending on the trim, the suite also adds advanced features, including a Blind Spot Information System with a Cross Traffic Monitor.
