2025 Honda CR-V

A silver 2025 Honda CR-V LX is angled left.

The CR-V has been a staple among Honda's offerings since it first came onto the scene several decades ago back in 1995. The CR-V is now one of the standout compact SUVs year in and year out for the manufacturer. For those interested in this two-row, five-door compact crossover, the CR-V has been a reliable and affordable option for many consumers out there, which makes the 2025 Honda CR-V an awesome option for potential SUV shoppers looking for a new compact model to drive home. The newest model year maintains the legacy of dependability and affordability, all without sacrificing its rich assortment of creature comforts and passenger conveniences.

The 2025 CR-V competes within a very stacked segment, rivaling other best-selling compacts and crossovers such as the Toyota RAV4, the Mazda CX-5, and the Chevy Equinox. To set itself apart from the competition, the CR-V has focused heavily on providing drivers with an assortment of high-quality features that make it a great long-range commuter vehicle, a comfortable family vehicle, and a utility-rich recreational vehicle. And even while the 2025 model year carries over all of the great features from the outgoing model year, it continues to retain everything that makes the CR-V standout as a worthwhile purchase for SUV shoppers.

Some of these features include the multiple packages and offerings spread across the trim line-up, which consists of three different trim grades for the base model. You have the starter LX trim, the beefier EX trim, and the EX-L trim, all of which are separate from the equally alluring CR-V hybrid model, which has its own trim line-up. However, for the standard CR-V you have a vehicle available in different drivetrain configurations and color options, featuring eight exterior colors such as Urban Gray Pearl, Canyon River Blue Metallic, and Crystal Black Pearl.

The base 2025 CR-V features a single 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder that makes 190 hp at 179 lb-ft of torque, while being paired with a continuously variable transmission. It provides just enough gusto while also delivering excellent fuel economy in either front-wheel or all-wheel drive. In front-wheel drive, you can expect to achieve an estimated 28 MPG in the city and up to 34 MPG on the highway, while all-wheel drive manages 26 MPG in the city and up to 31 MPG on the highway.[b] The CR-V can also tow up to 1,500 lbs when properly equipped.

Drive Modes and the HPD Package

With Honda’s 2025 model, you have access to three dynamic drive modes depending on the road conditions and weather, with Normal, Econ, and Snow mode options being available to take advantage of the drivetrain capabilities for the base CR-V. The design of the CR-V also lends itself well for a number of different utilities and driving purposes, such as the HPD Package, which gives the vehicle a very stylish visual overhaul with the special 18-inch HPD Bronze alloy wheels, pronounced fender flares, HPD emblem and decals, as well as a lower door trim accent. Plus, you get a tailgate spoiler with the HPD Package. It’s a nice visual enhancement for those who want to show off the performance side of the CR-V.

Other Notable Features

Additionally, the tailgate is also quite useful with the hands-free powered functionality, enabling you to use your foot to open the tailgate and utilize the programmable-height feature to make it customizable based on the driver and passenger needs. Rear privacy glass, a standard security system, and LED lighting array also all come standard across the trim line. This gives the CR-V a lot of versatility in how it's used and provides protection and utility for those who need it.

Convenience

With the excellent efficiency, amazing safety, and performance features of the CR-V, you have a very well-rounded compact. But beyond its utility and safety there are also a lot of comfort and convenience features available as well, including heated front seats with available leather-trimmed seating material. The CR-V also features a 10-way power adjustable seat with two-way power lumbar support, and a 4-way front passenger seat. There are also head restraints for all of the seats, with available seating capacity for up to five people across the two rows.

Interior Features

Every CR-V trim also comes standard with cruise control, power doors and locks, as well as a tilt and telescopic steering column. Every trim also comes standard with an automatic climate control system, with single-zone functionality on the starter trim and dual-zone climate control being standard on the upper-grade trims. You have other standard features as well, such as push-button start, automatic-dimming rearview mirror, and center console ambient lighting. The rear cargo area also features LED cargo lights so you can manage and organize your belongings even when it's dark outside, and you have cargo area tie-down anchors to secure your belongings to prevent them from shuffling around during travel.

Infotainment and Connectivity

All 2025 CR-V trims come standard with a 7-inch digital instrument cluster for telemetry readouts and customizable information feedback. However, there is a second display in the form of a 7-inch touchscreen, featuring Bluetooth streaming audio support, and Honda's HandsFreeLink so you can send and receive texts and phone calls using voice-activated commands. Phone connectivity also comes standard in the form of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, so you can access your apps and smartphone features directly through your CR-V touchscreen. There is even a standard 160-watt audio system featuring four speakers for the LX, while the EX and EX-L come standard with a 240-watt audio system featuring six speakers for a true surround sound audio experience.

The HondaLink connectivity suite is also standard across the entire trim-line. This enables you to link your smartphone to your vehicle, and enables it to control various features, such as sending commands to Alexa, Wi-Fi connectivity, and accessing smart home devices. You can also use the HondaLink to schedule maintenance for the CR-V, which is excellent for those who want to keep everything streamlined, from infotainment access and security, to maintenance and service requests.

Safety

The Honda Sensing Suite

The crux of the 2025 Honda CR-V's safety system lies in the robust driver aids and automated assistance provided by the Honda Sensing suite. For the CR-V, this includes the standard feature line-up of a Collision Mitigation Braking System, a Road Departure Mitigation System, Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Warning, a Lane Keeping Assist System, and a Traffic Sign Recognition System. This is in addition to Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow functionality. For those of you who need a little extra help with getting out of tight bumper-to-bumper traffic, there is the Traffic Jam Assist with driving support functionality, perfect for when you need to navigate through tight city corners and urban rush hour traffic. All of these are standard safety features across the entire trim lineup.

Other Available Features

Other available safety features like the Blind Spot Information System, Low-Speed Braking Control, and front and rear parking sensors provide you with added safety for the upper-end trims. These are also great if you want the added benefit of being able to park and have the CR-V help aid you in parking, whether reverse or parallel parking. The Blind Spot Information System is also good for keeping you safe when changing lanes where another vehicle is in your blind spot because it can give you a warning to prevent any unnecessary collisions.

The CR-V also comes with a lot of other safety features as well, such as automatic high beams, and a Cross Traffic Monitor, to ensure you don't back out or mistakenly hit an object when attempting to park or cross an intersection. A full airbag system also comes standard across every trim line, and you have seat-belt reminders for the front and rear seats, as well as a LATCH system for lower anchors and tethers for children. Plus, you have the added benefit of a multi-angle rearview HD camera with dynamic guidelines, so you can always view and navigate around what's behind you, giving you a clear view of traffic, objects, and parking spaces thanks to the camera system.
