Cost-Effective Performance

The 2025 Honda HR-V is a fuel-efficient SUV that offers a smooth and contemporary driving experience that gets you where you need to go and does so cost-effectively. Every 2025 HR-V comes standard with a 2.0L I-4 engine paired with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). An integrated Sport Mode can be activated at any time, and it’ll give you noticeably punchier acceleration––perfect for getting onto the highway. The HR-V comes equipped with FWD in its base configuration, but Real Time AWD is available for every trim if you’re willing to take a small hit to fuel efficiency. With either FWD or AWD, the HR-V has excellent handling and traction, even in wet weather conditions.

With the 2.0L I-4 engine, the HR-V has terrific fuel economy ratings, regardless of the drivetrain configuration. The 14-gallon fuel tank of the 2025 HR-V, coupled with its stellar fuel efficiency, helps minimize gas station trips and, by extension, keeps more money in your pocket. If your 2025 HR-V has FWD, you’ll get EPA-estimated ratings of 26 MPG in the city, 32 MPG on the highway, and 28 MPG combined, providing a total range of approximately 392 miles on a full tank of gas.[b] With AWD, you get an EPA-estimated 25 MPG in the city, 30 MPG on the highway, and 27 MPG combined, culminating in an approximate range of 378 miles.[b] An SUV that has low fuel consumption is as great as it sounds.

What about performance? The 2.0L I-4 engine under the hood gives the 2025 HR-V an ample amount of power out of the gate: 158 hp and 138 lb-ft of torque. The horsepower and torque output of the SUV are enough to lend you a sense of power, and your acceleration will have plenty of kick when you’re getting up to speed on the freeway. You’ll love driving the HR-V because it’s fun, comfortable, and sturdy.

Dimensions

Ample Passenger and Cargo Room

The 2025 HR-V has phenomenal interior dimensions, meaning you’ll not only have ample head, leg, shoulder, and hip room but so will the passenger sitting next to you and anyone seated in the back. The 2025 HR-V accommodates up to five passengers, with the back row easily folding downward to more than double the SUV’s maximum cargo space. With the seats kept in the upright position, the HR-V has 24.5 cu.ft. of cargo space, which is plenty for most scenarios you’ll likely find yourself in and more than enough for five people to store their belongings while on vacation. However, if the occasion arises where you need to fold down the back seats to gain access to an increased cargo capacity, doing so will increase your maximum cargo space by around 125% to 55.1 cu.ft.

It’s always important that a vehicle offers the driver decent head and leg room. However, for an SUV, the focus has to be spread across the board, meaning every passenger’s spot in the cabin must be considered when crafting an excellent SUV interior. For 2025 HR-V owners, each seat offers you or your passengers excellent interior space. You and the front-row passenger each have 39.4 inches of headroom and 41.9 inches of legroom. Up front, you also have 56.6 inches of shoulder room and 54 inches of hip room.

Inside the 2025 HR-V, the second row offers 38 inches of headroom. Second-row passengers also get 37.7 inches of legroom, 55.2 inches of shoulder room, and 47.4 inches of hip room. Ultimately, the 2025 HR-V has a maximum passenger volume of 98.7 cu.ft., unless you opt for the EX-L trim, which has 97.3 cu.ft. The main reason why the EX-L has slightly smaller dimensions compared to the other two trims is because of extra features, like the One-Touch Power Moonroof.

Incredible Convenience

Much of the HR-V’s incredible convenience comes in the form of features. For the price of the 2025 HR-V, there are a shocking number of standard features, while the ones you can opt for are equally splendid. Some of the features you’ll get depend on which trim you buy, while some features can be added to specific trims for an added fee or by opting for an optional package.

The base trim––the LX––comes with a plethora of tech features, including a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment center with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration installed. The LX also comes with the same seven-inch Driver Information Interface Screen on the dashboard as the pricier trims, along with included Bluetooth, two USB-C charging ports, a USB-A data port, and a 12V power outlet. Although the LX audio system utilizes just four speakers, the 180W of power it runs on gives your music an impactful auditory experience.

Higher Trim Features

On the Sport trim, you get much the same technological features as the LX, but a notable change is two additional speakers, raising the total to six. Other areas where the Sport justifies its higher price tag include heated seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and matching shift knob, power windows with Auto-Up/Down for both the driver and front passenger, and illuminated vanity mirrors. There are also exterior enhancements like a sport grille, black lug nuts, gloss black rear roofline spoiler, chrome exhaust finisher, and more.

If you purchase the EX-L, you receive a host of upgrades. For example, every 2025 HR-V EX-L comes with Dual-Zone Automatic Climate Control, ambient LED lighting lending a relaxing ambiance, a One-Touch Power Moonroof with Tilt feature, Smart Entry with Walk Away Auto Lock, and leather seats to match the steering wheel and shift knob. There is even an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat. The EX-L also has far more premium tech, including a nine-inch infotainment center with physical volume controls, two more speakers, bringing the total to eight, HD Radio and SiriusXM integration, and a wireless phone charger, so you can set it and forget it, achieving a healthy battery charge while on the road.

Honda Sensing Technology

Honda Sensing comes standard with every trim, although not every feature comes with the LX, with some being reserved for the Sport or EX-L. For example, only the Sport and EX-L come with the Blind Spot Information System with Cross Traffic Monitor, and only the EX-L comes with Low-Speed Braking Control and parking sensors on the front and rear of your HR-V. However, all other features that come with Honda Sensing can be found throughout the HR-V’s lineup of trims.

Some of the safety features you’ll get with any 2025 HR-V include Forward Collision Warning and Lane Departure Warning, which are designed to minimize fender benders and sideswipes with other vehicles. The HR-V does more than warn drivers, however, with various bits of automated software built into the SUV to dynamically stop the vehicle via the Collision Mitigation Braking System and help keep you in the correct lane thanks to the Lane Keeping Assist System and Road Departure Mitigation System. Each HR-V also comes with a Traffic Sign Recognition System that’ll display road signs, like the current speed limit, on your dashboard, so you don’t have to second-guess yourself on how fast you’re going if you’re traveling on new paths.
