2025 Honda Ridgeline

A grey 2025 Honda Ridgeline Sport is angled left.

The 2025 Honda Ridgeline represents the eighth-year outing of the second generation of Honda's compact pickup truck. The Ridgeline features a four-door crew cab design with a rear cargo box. The Ridgeline competes in a segment with other smaller light-duty vehicles, such as the Toyota Tacoma, Chevy Colorado, and Ford Ranger. However, it has managed to separate itself from the competition with its comfort-driven unibody design that combines the utility of a pickup truck with the convenience and riding comfort of a crossover SUV.

The Ridgeline seats up to five people across two rows, and for the 2025 model year it carries over the changes and updates that were made available in the outgoing model year. Some of these changes included an overhaul to the trim lineup while also adding improvements to the tech stack and packaging options. For 2025, you still have access to the new HPD (Honda Performance Development) package that alters the front fascia and comes with sports-centric wheels and badging, and the new larger HD touchscreen is standard across the trim line. The new TrailSport trim also carries over from the outgoing model year, featuring a skid plate, all-terrain tires, and the Diffused Sky Blue Pearl paint scheme.

The trim offerings for the 2025 Ridgeline is modest but varied, starting with the Sport trim, followed by the RTL trim, the new TrailSport trim, and finally the Black Edition, which sits at the top of the trim grades. You also have seven exterior color options available for the Ridgeline, giving you a variety of ways to outfit the truck with a color scheme suited to your preferences. The colors include Crystal Black Pearl, Solar Silver Metallic, Modern Steel Metallic, Diffused Sky Blue Pearl, Platinum White Pearl, Radiant Red Metallic II, and Sonic Gray Pearl.

Performance

A blue 2025 Honda Ridgeline HPD+ is shown kicking up dust.

The 2025 Honda Ridgeline comes equipped with only one powertrain, a very well-rounded 3.5-liter V6 that outputs 280 hp at 262 lb-ft with a 9-speed automatic transmission. The Ridgeline comes standard in all-wheel drive, making use of Honda's intelligent variable torque management system, also known as i-VTM4. It's designed to give you a lot of stability and responsive performance while on the road, all while providing good fuel economy for a compact pickup truck. You can expect to achieve up to 18 MPG in the city and 24 MPG on the highway, with a combined fuel economy of 21 MPG.[b]

Performance Features

The Ridgeline features the Eco Assist system for fuel management and also comes equipped with Intelligent Traction Management featuring multiple drive modes. This control management sports the ability to make use of four different settings, including Normal, Snow, Sand, and Mud. The stability is buffered by the multi-link rear suspension, giving the Ridgeline a very smooth stance on the road, while the off-road centric Trailsport features an off-road tuned suspension for those who plan on taking their truck onto dirt trails and muddy pathways.

Towing and Payload

As a compact pickup the Ridgeline is still more than capable when it comes to its performance capabilities for utility work. When properly equipped the Honda pickup can tow up to 5,000 lbs worth of cargo, and thanks to the construction of the frame, you can make use of the pickup box to haul up to 1,583 lbs worth of payload capacity. Coupled with the ruggedly stylish design featuring a bold grille with the Honda logo in the center, 18-inch wheels, available all-terrain tires, and an LED lighting array, you have a very well-rounded truck that is not only designed to get you to your destination quickly but affords you a lot of utility and functional versatility right out of the gate.

Convenience

There is a lot of convenience when it comes to both comfort amenities and utilitarian functionality. The 2025 Ridgeline manages to hit both cross-sections with flying colors, thanks to its capacity, streamlined interior, and highly functional exterior. This includes outset features such as the Dual-Action Tailgate, where you not only have a dampened tailgate you can access with an embedded lockable truck, but it also features the ability to swing the tailgate open sideways for easy access into the cargo area of the bed.

A Versatile Truck Bed

You have an impressive 33.9 cu.ft. of cargo capacity made available within the 5.3-ft cargo bed, but with the added embedded trunk within the cargo bed, you have an additional 7.3 cu.ft. of cargo capacity that you make use of to store additional cargo and belongings, which is excellent given that it's airtight and water-sealed, so you don't have to worry about rain or snow dripping into the cargo area. This also makes the Ridgeline highly convenient for small families, as you can use it for grocery shopping, school, and daily driving without worrying about your belongings being affected by the weather. The added 150/400-watt external power outlet in the rear bed also makes the Ridgeline super useful for outdoor activities, such as electric camping equipment, or using the truck for power tools. Additional tie-down cleats for cargo and LED bed lights also make the truck's cargo box extremely versatile when it comes to what you can use it for and where.

Interior Features

The convenience factors also apply to the interior of the Ridgeline as well, sporting up to 109.7 cu.ft. of passenger volume across the two-row crew cabin, which can seat up to five people. You have available 10-way power adjustable seats with lumbar support, along with a four-way front power adjustable passenger seat. From the RTL trim up, you have heated front seats, while the RTL and Black Edition come with available leather-trimmed seats, while the TrailSport features leather-trimmed seats featuring trail orange stitching. Rear privacy glass comes standard on all trims, while an acoustic windshield and one-touch power moonroof are available on the RTL and above trim grades.

Technology

Safety, security, and infotainment are all wrapped up in an impressive suite of technology for the 2025 Honda Ridgeline. All of the trims come standard with Smart Entry with Walk Away automatic locking technology, as well as a security system with remote entry access. You even have power windows and locks with push button start functionality. This makes the Ridgeline easy to get into, easy to get out of, easy to start, and easy to secure no matter where you go. Plus, there is the availability of the HomeLink remote access system, so you can pair your Ridgeline up with your smart home devices, if you have any.

Interior Tech

The technology also expands into the convenience features as well, such as the available customizable ambient LED lighting for select models, automatic dimming mirrors, and a Tri-Zone Automatic Climate Control System with humidity and air filtration control mechanisms. There are also a lot of standardized technologies spread across the trim line, including a 7-inch digital driver display featuring an information cluster of all the important vehicle telemetry and a separate 9-inch HD touchscreen featuring app access and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto phone projection with built-in wireless charging.

Infotainment

Bluetooth wireless streaming comes standard across the trim line, with HandsFreeLink technology available for those who want to use voice commands for media access and vehicle functionality. Plus, there is Speed-Sensitive Volume Compensation, USB data and charging ports, as well as SiriusXM Satellite Radio with access to hundreds of HD radio stations, which you can enjoy on a 215-watt 7-speaker audio system that includes a subwoofer. However, if you want even better high-quality audio output there is a 540-watt premium audio system featuring 8-speakers and a subwoofer.

Safety

HondaLink comes standard on every trim, but there is also the available Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System, which features improved HD digital traffic information and voice recognition for navigation. You can also be sure to reach your destinations safely thanks to the Honda Sensing driver-assistance suite, featuring a Forward Collision Warning, a Collision Mitigation Braking System, and a Lane Keeping Assist System. The active safety suite is combined with other convenience technologies, such as a Cross Traffic Monitor, auto high-beam headlights, and parking sensors for easy parking, making the Ridgeline a robust and vibrant pickup when it comes to performance, safety, convenience, and technology.
